Dental Implants in Southwark,  SE1 London

When replacing a missing or soon to be removed tooth, we often recommend a single tooth dental implant.

What is a single tooth dental implant?

A single tooth dental implant replaces a missing, damaged or decayed tooth with a prosthetic tooth that is held in place via an implant. This implant is made up of a titanium screw that acts as the new ‘root’ for your prosthetic tooth.

Why do I need a single tooth dental implant?

We recommend single tooth dental implants to our patients missing a single tooth or who are getting a tooth extracted due to decay or damage that is beyond repair. We believe that, where possible, it is always better to replace a missing tooth.

Missing teeth can lead to further damage and complications in the future, as well as causing a lack of confidence in your smile. Some of the issues that can arise due to missing teeth include further misalignment of the remaining teeth, food debris getting lodged, tooth decay, bad breath, and bone loss in the jaw.

What is the treatment like?

A single tooth dental implant is usually fitted over two appointments. After a consultation where we’ll ascertain whether you’re a suitable candidate for an implant, you’ll return to us to get the implant fitted.

After a wait of a few months, during which the titanium screw fuses with the jawbone, you’ll come back in for your final appointment where we’ll fit your prosthetic tooth.
